Millions is the latest project from Randall Sena, a kind of musical mufasa for his hometown, having been in a slew of highly influencial bands to the area, and running his own DIY studio “certain Sparks’, on top of all that he rolls out these sensational lo fi pop gems. What began originally as recordings and writing with local groups like Oso, Tall Tales, and Sparrows Gate, Randall has been honing down on his craft and Millions is the Outcome.

Saint Annes Place is the musical brainchild of Jacob Cole, who truly steers the band with these leads and his easy to digest songwriting. Joining him in this lofi rock trio is his brother sam, and joel martin, all of which are more central coast california locals. Hearing their full live sound you would not think that this is only a three piece. These guys have an amazing energy live and these recordings are superb.

The mysterious and enigmatic environments in this song hold true to the eccentric name choice. Wu Lyf, is a post punk garage act who fit into the realm of  bands likeThe Birthday Party, Einstürzende Neubauten, & Bauhaus. Their songs drenched in crunchy guitar with ethereal overtones seem to capture a nice aesthetic. On a personal note, I immediatley added this to my playlist with Zola Jesus & Tearist. Austin’s Woven Bones display potential for sure on their debut album In and Out and Back Again , but they still have a few kinks to work out. Mainly the repeative nature of their songs.  Despite this hiccup their album shows  a wealth of promise thanks to some really great and catchy songs.

Having had “Despicable Dogs” land on Pitchfork.com’s Best New Music list back in 2009, Small Black have themselves as a tough act to follow as their debut release approaches. New Chain, the debut album from Small Black, will be released Oct. 26 with much anticipation. The Brooklyn based outfit are hotly tipped as one of the best new indie bands out of the Burroughs of New York. A year after winning over die hard indie music critics, Small Black find themselves in a precarious position to please not only fans of their EPs but solidly move rock journalists to their side.

Chelsea Wolfe- Demons

Spooky, gothic, cold, dark, transcending, eerie, and merciless. Chealsea Wolfe feels like church bells ringing on a stormy night, with the moon lighting up puddles on the cobblestone street. The music evokes what’s almost a nightmare, yet in someways an overwhelming dream of fantastical shapes and sounds, haunting vocals and lashing, chanting, screaming instruments. She reminds me of Nick Cave, Pink Floyd, Sabbath, even Merciful Fate … maybe. It’s an enchanting listen—deeply experimental, narcotic, fantastical, healing to those looking to expand their claustrophobic musical realm.

Hifiklub is a pop rock band from the south of France. Three members are part of a permanent lineup, which are Régis Laugier on vocals/bass, Luc Benito on drums/vocals and Nicolas Morcillo on guitar. The trio works with a hodgepodge of talent, including R. Stevie Moore, Paulo Furtado, Lee Ranaldo, and Andrew WK. “Over” is a catchy song ready for summer pool parties and the like with its up-tempo beats and dare we say, interesting chanting?
