Although the process by which Holton Rower creates his paintings seems simple, it is far from it. Having been born and raised in New York City, Rower is no stranger to abstract art. He “paints” by continuously pouring different colors of acrylics onto plywood and canvas. Rower lets gravity help with the creation, resulting in beautiful color combinations that can only be described as “hypnotic”. His newest exhibition is entitled Focus Paintings, Pour Paintings, and features two parts. Both are made in his unique style, although he describes the second set as a bit more contained and not as free form.
