To the imaginative mind, Jean Marie Massaud’s solar lamp resembles a prop out of a science fiction film. Its sleek design and glowing hemispherical base evoke thoughts of mysterious, extraterrestrial objects. Massaud’s project for Italian company Foscarini combines this strange aura with functionality inspired by traditional hearths. Celestial and versatile, it can shift from a coffee table with built in lighting to a decorative outdoor lamp. Made from waterproof and unbreakable polyethylene, the lamp can be tilted in several positions, creating a new ambience at each angle.
