Have you ever heard the saying the world is like an island, or some variation of it? My interpretation is that the world is composed of sections, each one different and like a tiny little island. Tristram Lansdowne’s work reminds me of that, with each piece crated the same and yet entirely different. His works of art feature floating isles. With some, whole civilizations look to be erected, while others look as though the inhabitants have given way to wanderlust. Its wondrous scenery, painted in varying degrees of tranquility and duress.
