Japanese brand Sanyo first introduced their human washing machine at the World Expo in Osaka in 1970. It was meant to exhibit the “home of the future” trend that was hot back then. The machine dubbed the Ultrasonic Bath had various wash cycles including, the pre-rinse, massage mode, and final rinse. After that there was a special drying cycle that featured “heating lamps” that helped kill germs while drying you off. Sadly The Ultrasonic Bath was just a pipe-dream and never went into production.
