Death. Dying. Meaning. A work by Ted Lawson evokes thoughts of such and the related. His sculptures are composed with a simple extravagance that demands attention, most with bodies coated and dripping. Objects of his creation are suspended in the air adjacent to a lifeless figure that looks like something from American Horror Story. A set of women with the same name but entirely different shapes stand in a circle. Questions ensue, both from the viewer and the piece. What he creates is unnerving and exciting at the same time, and is an experience all in itself.
