Darkness brings color to life but shadows dance with the slight addition of illumination. One of the strengths of its obscurity is that it allows one to acknowledge the detail of an object engulfed in its presence. It emphasizes levitation when there is nothing left to stand on and show its restraints.
Artist Jesse Fillingham from Pasadena in Southern California has craftily used the reflective and deflective ends of the prism to create unique and somewhat sadistic facial animations and open universes with its own aura stamped on canvas.
Framed with constants only to display centerpiece contradictions, Jesse uses shadows as mirrors, circumferences as perimeters, and blacks lines as white lines to give birth to a cosmic world of visa versa.
