When ideas in your head become too overwhelming for explanation, one form of outlet will not suffice. Swiss artist Olaf Breuning understands this concept which is why he expresses himself through creating videos, sculptures, drawings and instillation’s. All of which come from a place in popular culture mixed with cliche and visual iconography. As an artist who was trying to find his niche, he painted over nude models in 2011 to evoke a sense of ownership and signature style to his work. One might suggest that his best composition is with real people, nude or not. In his most recent work titled “Pattern Color”, Breuning uses the application of color and human figures to exceptionally show the patterns and combinations that colors can generate.
