In response to an unspoken yet oft pondered question, Playboy has released an app for the iPad entitled, quite deftly, “iPlayboy.” A mere $8 a month gains access to all pictures, articles and even ads from its 50 year span. However startling it might be to seeing the infamous Playboy bunny next to the Instagram camera, it follows a much more conspicuous external hard drive proposed in 2010. Although it provided 250 GB of storage space, it included the magazine’s entire run pre-loaded, and almost assuredly the word “PLAYBOY” embossed on every side. While the stigma will no doubt remain forever, the app provides access to all of the magazine’s influential and highly potent articles and interviews, such as those with Hunter S. Thompson and Malcolm X. Readers and viewers alike will become engaged in iPlayboy, whether on the couch, at the office, or in the shower, if nimble enough.
