British designer Faye Toogood has begun exploring the world of the make-up industry, creating a concept collection for the beauty brand MAKE. The collection, “New Medieval”, was a collaborative project created by Toogood and make-up artist Ayami Nishimura. The two artists used their individual visions to create one. “Faye was into hard, colorless nature,” says Nishimura, “I’m normally into more colorful things, like flowers and birds and animal patterns.”
The result of these different visions is a collection that includes elements of happy landscapes and darker, almost apocalyptic landscapes and textures.
“The products are meant to be applied by hand in a more painterly fashion,” says Toogood. This collection debuted in fall 2012.
