REVIEW: GOLD LA’S ‘ZERO’

Founder of the Legion Of Doom CLCTV Group artist GOLD recently released a new 10-track album titled ZERO. The Los Angeles native returns to the dark abysmal world of ambient trap with ZER0; high-energy drumlines and heavy synths takeover the whole album. Standout tracks include “Abducted”; with chopped vocal chants strewn together across trap-inspired hi-hats this one really makes a standout impact, “Broken”; another adrenaline-filled track which contains sounds similar to GOLD’s early remixes and work (most notably the WVTXR remix done in collaboration with producer EVSTGHXST) and “Wave”; off-key synth stabs enveloped in high leads with a subtle bassline makes this track shine. Mastered by fellow legion ENDOR with artwork by No Pomo; ZER0 is a great intro project for those unfamiliar with the underground scene of ambient trap and makes for a great mix for electro warehouse parties.
