S.o.t.r recently got a chance to visit Los Angels based artist Brian Cooper for another instalment of our ‘studio visit’ series. His art features a plethora of geometric shapes and colors that trigger a variety of focal points, thus betraying a unique method to its madness.
The red-infused Build Boom Bust and the cool-colored Transcend the Finite denote conceptual similarities via their intricate, colorful wood stacking and sporadic doodling, whereas Art in Public’s (Concrete Jungle) and (Metro) pieces bring to mind futuristic, fluid art displays.
Lovers of pastel-imbued art will enjoy pieces like Farther and Further and Making Things makes Things Matter, while intense hues are seen in the blue-gold dichotomy that is the other-worldly Rise and the burgundy, humor-tinged Finite Face.
Unusual art that blends chaos and a joie de vivre through inspirational quotes and the random ‘happy face’ that reveals itself when you least expect it.
P.S. Brian’s music is just as cool as his art, download his most recent album here.
