Pittsburgh-native, California-based artist Dave Kinsey’s work channels moody, dark visions replete with shadowy-eerie shapes and sporadic geometric figures that make for thought-provoking art.
While much of Kinsey’s work features striking shades of black, grey, red, and teal-ish blue, he’s also created a variety of installations with varying color schemes and mixed media. One needs only a quick gander to note the artist’s scope.
Female sensuality is seen in pieces like Venus and Woman in Repose while ghostly apparitions figure in Beast of Burden and The Scream. A Rose Is A Rose and Love Me Love Me Not divulge unconventional flora whereas Paradox II and HeadSpace denote cartoonish qualities.
On top of having been showcased worldwide, Kinsey has worked with renowned names like Absolut Vodka, DC Shoes, Polaroid, the Black Eyed Peas and N.E.R.D, to name a few.
