Sickoftheradio recently got a chance to visit artist Erik Bergrin in the studio, where we gained insight into his amazing work and were able to document various works in progress.

Erik went to school and studied mostly psychology, and when he graduated, he worked in costume studios constructing theatrical costumes for theater/Broadway. He stopped working in the shops in order to concentrate on his own work. Most of his work has to do with a disconnection with oneself because of the past. Hiding behind, and never being present.
The little pregnant boy (above) is a sculpture Erik is in the process of making, collaborating with artist Andrew Dangelo.

Work in progress (above & below): Robe w/ slides. It will be an interactive piece you will be able to step into a put a massive satellite dish over your head, look through a mask, to see something hanging from the ceiling that you will view through the spyglasses attached to the eyeholes of the mask. (The satellite dish mock up on img 1570, on the floor.)
