Push-button music-making is sweet and all, but there’s something about good old fashioned wooden instruments that really gets me excited, y’know? So imagine my delight at peeping this performance-video from Brooklyn kiddos La Big Vic, where lead singstress and Altered Zones comrade Emilie Friedlander starts things off with a picked-up violin and then halfway through the casio-sesh starts laying down some Euro-femme vocals right on top. The ensuing song’s construction and demolition results in a near-nine-minute heavy shoegaze stoner-jam that incorporates a ton of varying musical elements but never loses its momentum. While it’s not gonna blow your mind lyrically, there’s something impressive and endearing in the easy talent La Big Vic shows off.
