Erik Mansson: Swedish photographer and collage doctor
In the beginning, he was a photographer of landmarks, everyday living, and city scenes. He used pallid colours and shadows to conjure snatches of ghostly timelessness. In some of his earlier collages, strange images melt together; some cartoonish and accompanied by slogans, or colour patterns that are so vibrant they become slogans themselves. His newest style takes scenes of nature, landscapes and repaints them with absurdly unreal and unrelated images, giving them surreality.
