The Residents tour imminent

The residents

In a strange and delightful turn of events, American art collective and general nutters The Residents are embarking on a two month tour, entitled Taking Light, which will take them from Mexico City to London, via various cities across the good ol’ States. Apparently each performance will be split into three parts – the first concerning “a mysterious skeleton baby in a remote desert cottage”, and the third based around a story involving a woman and her invisible twin sister. The middle section changes with each show. Intriguing.

For those new to the Residents, you probably know as much about them as the rest of us. Safe to say, their names aren’t actually John Crayfish, George Crayfish, Paul McCrayfish, and Ringo Starfish, as the insleeve of their 1974 LP, Meet the Residents, would have you believe. Yes, these fellows are known to enjoy deconstructing western pop culture, usually while sporting giant eyeball helmets. Will be interested to see how this one pans out.
