Christopher Chiappe’s work can be characterized as vibrant, silly and poignant. The appeal of his work lies in his multifaceted techniques. Utilizing pigmented inkjet prints, spray paint, wood, Styrofoam and more, Chiappe’s strength is in turning ordinary materials and products into thoughtful pieces of art. The Speedstick “rainbow” is clever; while the “Stool Sample” is cheeky and bold. Some of Chiappe’s inkjet prints look like high resolution pictures that would have appeared before or after a Monty Python skit. Clever.
