New York City transplants Molly Hamilton, Michael Stasiak, and Rob Thomas make up the barely one-year-old band, Windowspeak. It was just last spring when the trio went to work in Hamilton’s Brooklyn apartment and melded their musical experience together to create their haunting ballads. Their single “Harsh Realm,” is already garnering comparisons between Hamilton’s eerie vocals and those of Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval – which isn’t a bad thing at all.
On March 8th, Windowspeak’s first 7” was released, and their debut is due out sometime this year on Captured Tracks Records, which is also home to such bands as Wild Nothing and Beach Fossils.
While we don’t have a song or video to share yet, you can expect one soon once that debut is released… we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, you can see them playing shows in the New York City area, and hear “Harsh Realm,” on their MySpace page.
