The Rural Alberta Advantage To Release Sophmore LP

theruralalbertaadvantage1 The Rural Alberta Advantage To Release Sophmore LP

On March 1st the Canadian co-ed indie rock trio, The Rural Alberta Advantage, will be releasing their sophomore full-length on Saddle Creek RecordsDeparting is a much-anticipated follow-up to Hometowns, the widely received album that they put out themselves in 2008 before Saddle Creek picked it up and re-released it in 2009.

Nils Edenloff (songwriter, lead vocals, guitar), Amy Cole (back-up vocals, keyboard, percussion) and Paul Banwatt (drums) aren’t strangers to nonchalantly getting the recognition they deserve.  They were named eMusic’s featured artist of the month in November 2008 before they made their mark in the indie scene while opening for Grizzly Bear at SXSW in 2009.  This memorable performance jump-started their musical careers and their ever-expanding fan base.  Nils’ gritty, strained vocals and nostalgic songwriting on Hometowns has left fans and critics impatiently awaiting new material ever since.

The band already played a sold-out preview show this month at the Mercury Lounge in NYC to show of all the tracks on Departing. But, don’t worry, they’ll be embarking on a 2 month long tour post March 1st (see below for upcoming dates) to share their new music with the rest of the country.

Here’s the bold teaser track, “Stamp”, from the upcoming album. You can also click here to get the free mp3 for yourself!  There’s no doubt in my mind that The Rural Alberta Advantage will be praised all over again after this release.
