There are certain difficulties one faces when attempting to write about an installation that they cannot see first-hand. Thankfully, Daniel Patrick Helmstetter keeps it simple. His most recent work, the text-based wall mural “Danny’s Continental Cocktail Lounge” appears to consist of a black room covered in white text. A lengthy stream-of-consciousness piece, it seems warm and improvisational compared to the more precise pseudo-science of type design .
