Los Angeles shoe designer George Esquivel has always had a big following in the music industry — after kicking his career off selling his classic menswear styles at concerts, he eventually gained clients like No Doubt, 311, and Social Distortion. More recently, a pair of his two-toned oxfords appeared in Janelle Monae’s “Tightrope” music video.
Now, Esquivel continues to blur the lines of masculinity and femininity with his Winter 2010 collection of unisex footwear, a colorful, stylish spin on hiking boots — “a hiking boot for an urban explorer,” he explained to Interview Magazine.
