This picture by Jorge Pineda is particularly freaky. Not only is it mind-bending to look at the scrawls on the wall as a giant post-postmodern mess but with all that chaos ending at the face of a child (or beginning with it?), it is insanely odd. The harsh squiggles of grey that either come from or end with the hooded figure interestingly juxtapose the bright flash of colour of red on the child against the muted chaos of the grey scribble. If this is chaos and horror, then maybe the Children of the Corn wasn’t so far off after all.
