Former MTV hostess Alexa Chung is continuing her television career with the upcoming reality show “Thrift America,” airing on PBS next summer. The cameras will follow Chung as she picks through thrift racks, visits vintage clothing haunts, and shops around flea markets. Her sartorial stops will include cities like Detroit, Nashville, and – not entirely surprisingly – Brooklyn.
This isn’t Chung’s first foray in TV, and she is certainly no newcomer to the world of fashion. The former model turned style icon partnered up with Madewell earlier this year to create “Alexa Chung for Madewell,” a quickly sold-out collection filled with cardigans, high-waist shorts, button-down blouses, and polka-dot dresses. Last year, UK-based Mulberry released the “Alexa” bag, which spawned three other Alexa-inspired bags.
