As a cat lover myself, the images of any furry little feline warms my heart. Don’t get me wrong, I am a big fan of dogs as well, but there’s something innately dependable and beneficial about loving a cat. Max Knight seems to think so as well. Though the photographer posts some images of dogs, man’s supposed best friend, in his homage to domestic animals, cats are featured far more in these images. Domesticated animals, in general, are the focus in this series of pictures. Each dog or cat is not in any given situation that could be deemed as being in the wild or their natural habitat. This seems to be their natural habitat; in places of man-made construction and concern where they are taken care of.
Though a few pictures are quirky—with a cat sitting in what looks like a space-age submarine/train hybrid or the punk rock man tending to his fluffy dog—they are images of hope and unconditional love. We cannot ever truly known how an animal feels about humans collectively or singularly but the little Yorkie baring its soul in its eyes or the tame cat on the bed quietly pleading for your affection note that we can, at least, see that they need us just as much as we need them.
