Who says fall/winter clothes need to follow the same neutral and dark palettes? Japanese based designer Mercibeaucoup seem to think the whole spectrum of colour is up for grabs for the Fall/Winter 2010- 2011 season. Utilizing big, bold patterns and different shapes, this line brightens those somber and cold autumn and winter days.
There are some familiar themes and patterns in Mercibeaucoup’s FW line that has been shown by other designers such as thick, chunky knits; plaid; the Letterman Jacket illustrating the school wear trend; sequins; and ponchos. Though the similarities between fashion lines during the FW season is expected, Mercibeacoup punch it up with rich colours, mixing patterns and perfect layering that make the line both street wearable and exemplify fashion as art.
Youth is a big inspiration for this line. You can see in the bright colours and large patterns, as well as the overalls and high school attire that say fashion this season can be as carefree as those days when we were – or are still— young.
