Erik Mark Sandberg‘s art depicts children covered with soft down-like hair all over their faces. Like another breed of human beings or humans with the rare “werewolf syndrome.” And here you thought your school pictures were bad. On a more serious note, Erik’s artwork seems to reflect back to the days of the circus sideshow acts, when parents would bring their children to gawk at the less fortunate who are afflicted with faulty genetics. Perhaps Erik is trying to draw a connection to Darwinism, highlighting the ape-to-man progress of evolution. Or perhaps he’s just trying to say “you look like a monkey too.”
