ART: Linda Kim catches ethereal beauty of daydreams

kim midnight bath ART: Linda Kim catches ethereal beauty of daydreams
Linda Kim’s artwork displays nature, blended delicately with the mystique of the subconscious. Like a child whiling away the afternoon hours with art supplies spread all over the floor, Linda Kim captures the ethereal beauty of daydreams but she executes with all the sophistication of a well trained artist. In Midnight Bath, we see three white tigers bathing in a pond enjoying the spender of the night, while in New Song a curious two-headed bird offering some us some visual music. Synesthesia anyone? Her artwork is like good poetry. I can search for meaning or just let the imagery wash over me. Either way, both are gratifying.  When asked about her inspiration, Kim wrote, ” My work is mostly derived from nature and curiosity. I grew up in the suburbs of L.A. where I had the city, mountains, ocean, and everything in between all within driving distance so I was/am able to explore a lot. My interests include people, food, cultures, the ocean, relationships, conversations, science, mystery, and music.”
