The three girls out of Halifax, Canada called The Stolen Minks sure know how to bring punk/garage music to the table. Their music is very fun. It is very similar to The Ramones (one of their influences) but the most important thing is that these girls made the punk into their own style. It is nice to hear girls’ voices in punk. The simple but beautiful guitar solos and steady drum beats are something to look for as well. They are going on a long hiatus period due to the guitarist Stephanie’s relocation to Korea. They also have recently finished their ‘Goodbye for Now Tour’ on February 13th. For those of you who missed these wonderful girls, go check out their sample music on their myspace. Most of them are unreleased demos but it does not diminish their spirit at all. Their new album that was released in 2008 called High Kicks and their older album Family Boycott are also available to order on their website.
