howardAmb – It’s the kind of music you hear in a sci-fi movie when the character stumbles into the alien’s lair and marvels at the advanced technology. Ethereal, wondrous, and, well, alien. This is partly explained by the fact that howardAmb isn’t a band or a one-man show behind a synthesizer. It’s an audio and video archive of the KORG Keyboard Hardware, where it gets its name. Both owned and operated by James Hamblin and Stefan Scott, the duo started trading samples with each other in 2002 and it wasn’t until 2004 that they decided to start a live music project, howardAmb. Their CD, “electricaLanguage” was released in 2009 and can be found on iTunes. If you’re interested, howardAmb will be playing on the 13th of June in California at Echo Curio. Watch out though, they have an official statement that warns those who are sensitive to light that watching their live show or even videos of their live show may induce seizure because of their use of a Tenori-on.
