The Dresden Dolls are a self proclaimed Brechtian Punk Cabaret band and have enjoyed the success from hits like “Coin-Operated Boy” and “Girl Anachronism”. But it seems like in 2008 everything that was Dresden had just stopped. This could be good or bad news just depending on if you are a die hard Dresden Dolls fan or not. According to the bands Myspace, it was just announced that Amanda Palmer who is responsible for the piano and vocals in the band, would make the natural leap to starring in the production of Cabaret at the American Repertory Theater. The production will be directed by Steven Bogart and will feature music that is directed by Lance Horne. Currently, Palmer, has now added a new feather in her cabaret hat, producer, Palmer is now on the road with Evelyn Evelyn, a dark Americana band of two sisters who are parapagus tripus dibrachius twins, sharing three legs, two arms, three lungs, two hearts and a single liver. Before you can catch 1/2 of the Dresden Dolls on stage for Cabaret in Boston, you can catch her touring with Evelyn Evelyn on an East coast, West Coast tour though June.
