A kick ass time in headphones is what this LP promises with both speakers a buzz with different drum kits, melodic riffs and feel good beats. Martin Dosh’ lust for music began at age three and his now 5th full solo album for Anticon Records entitled “Tommy” showcases his years of musical development beautifully while still keeping its raw, yet organic, “made in your basement” feel. It is chalked full of more catchy vocals and breathy humming, layers of drums, and loads of improvised piano. This album is named after and dedicated to Tom Cesario, Dosh’s good friend and soundman that passed away unexpectedly a little over two years ago. You can feel this influence flow out through this collection of songs, which seem to mourn the loss while simultaneously celebrating the beauty of life.
After a three week tour with Eyedea and Ablities which began in January, he is now on a solo tour going all over the US and parts of Canada that will wrap up May 13th in Omaha, Nebraska, after hitting places like Austin, Denver, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and of course his home state of Minnesota.
