Last year Rural Alberta Advantage put out their album, Hometowns, and immediately people fell in love. Not only is the album a work of art, but live, the RAA is fantastic, and have a presence that some novice bands have yet to master.

Rural Alberta Advantage played to a packed backyard at Austin’s Yard Dog Gallery at Schubas & Lincoln Hall Annual SXSW Round-UP with Smith Westerns, Japandroids, Freelance Whales, We Are Scientists, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Born Ruffians, The Hood Internet, Maps & Atlases and Sharon Van Etten.

Each band played a 20-30 minute long set, while Sharon Van Etten filled in the downtime with her sweet acoustic vocals, along with Only Children, and Diane Izzo as the day continued.
