What’s better than all you can drink beer for $3, free Saucony kicks, and music? Not much. And that’s exactly what the audience at Club de Ville in Austin at Saucony Originals Presents Insound’s SXSW Party got.
While the beer temporarily ran out, the music and free sneaker giveaways continued all afternoon. The six-hour long party consisted of sets by Liars, Vivian Girls, Small Black, Surfer Blood and the favorite indie darlings of the moment from Spain, Delorean…all of whom contributed a great combination of shoegaze and pop.
Brooklyn’s Vivian Girls rocked with a poppy, punk-surf, while Liars were a bit more droning…but in the best way possible. Between each band a lucky audience member got a pair of sneakers…it was kinda like Oprah, but with better music. Synthesized songs from Surfer Blood and Delorean kept the crowd dancing, while Small Black took things down a notch just in time for the midday temperatures to reach almost eighty.
All the bands at the show will continue their individual tours out west until mid-April, when some head to Europe or back east.
