Made up primarily of Jeremy Earl and Jarvis Taveniere, Woods is an upbeat, psych, folk experience with toe tapping beats and attention grasping vocals. The “I Was Gone” EP, released 3/16/10, seems to have used an alternative approach to song writing than their previous album “Songs of Shame”, but both resulted in great adventures into unknown psychedelic lands revolving around group sing alongs with friends, that can’t help but lift the spirits. They have a new full length out May 11, 2010 through Woodsist Records entitled “At Echo Lake”, which takes on a whole new level of vocals. Their songs are filled with a homemade feel, use of obscure instruments, and off beat rhythms that intertwine and embark on a journey together to create a different type of musical genre. Through recent releases they have continued to refine their backyard group playing style showing more possibilities of what you should be hearing around that bonfire, beer in hand of course. Check out “I’m Not Gone” , “Rain On” and “Party in the Pines” to really put your eardrums in a euphoric state.
